Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

India’s independence is one of the most important events in the country’s history. To commemorate this day, the Government of India organizes the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a series of events, activities, and programs to celebrate India’s freedom. 

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

 This Mahotsav is dedicated to the people of India who have not only been instrumental in bringing India thus far in its evolutionary journey but also hold within them the power and potential to enable Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The official journey of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav commenced on 12th March 2021 which started a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of independence and will end post a year on 15th August 2023. Following are the five themes of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The aim of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is to recognize the spirit of freedom and encourage citizens to take part in activities that help to build an inclusive, equitable, sustainable, prosperous India. People from all walks of life and regions of the country participate in this celebration to recognize the spirit of freedom and to help build an inclusive, equitable, sustainable, and prosperous India. This celebration is truly a representation of our nation’s unity and determination.

Celebrating India’s freedom through Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a great way to recognize and appreciate the sacrifices of heroes for the nation.  With a variety of activities such as cultural performances, patriotic movie screenings and inspiring talks, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav adds to the list of glorious events which celebrate our independence. This event is a true testament to the long-held belief that freedom and love for one’s nation will never die in India.

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a great reminder of India’s independence and the struggles of our freedom fighters. It also stands as a testament to the importance of freedom and the necessity to protect it. This year, let us use this festival to remind ourselves of the need to fight for what we believe in and strive towards a better future. Let us also use this opportunity to celebrate India’s glorious past and honour our independence by embracing the spirit of freedom and unity.
