Jal Shakti Abhiyan is a campaign for water conservation and water security in India launched by the Ministry of Jal Shakti in 2019. The campaign focuses on water-stressed districts and blocks. The campaign was launched with an aim to generate a people’s movement to accelerate water conservation across the country. The Jal Shakti Abhiyan is a time-bound, mission-mode water conservation campaign. During the campaign, officers, groundwater experts and scientists work together to identify and implement local solutions to water challenges.
