Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a leading activist and social reformer who dedicated his life, working for the upliftment of the Dalits (the untouchables) and the socially backward class of India. He was born on April 14, 1891, in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He was a lawyer, economist, politician, and social reformer who campaigned for the rights of the ‘untouchable’ caste of India. He was also the principal architect of the Constitution of India and a founding father of the Republic of India.
